Invasives pull
Cold Spring Park 1094 Beacon St, Newton, MA, United StatesCome join us this Saturday morning (Nov 2) 9:30-11:30 at Cold Spring Park (back of Beacon St. parking lot) and we'll work on removing more Tree of Heaven in the meadow, knotweed (so that it will be easier to scythe next year), bittersweet, and maybe also multiflora rose and barberry, for a change! We have scattered thousands of native plant seeds in the area cleared last time. It will be exciting to see what comes up in the spring. If anyone would like to join us it would be great to have your company and your help.
Invasive buckthorn seedling pull
This Sunday morning, we will remove small buckthorns seedlings in the Buckthorn demonstration plots. Buckthorn is the invasive plant that is threatening the Cold Spring Park Red Maple Forest. You would be most welcome to join, if you can make it! It is forecasted to be in the mid 40's so hopefully if we dress warmly it will be comfortable enough. Thank you, Katherine 617-721-2571 cell
