Welcome to Cold Spring Park!

Cold Spring Park is a 67-acre mixed-use park in the heart of Newton, Massachusetts. Cold Spring Park is a green treasure for the residents of Newton all year round. Whether you want to visit the dog park, play a game, go for a hike or jog, exercise, or explore the diverse ecosystems, Cold Spring Park has a place for you!

Cork Tree Update – Day 1 – 8/17, 3 pm – Great news!

The terrific Northern Tree Services crew made so much progress today that we think the remaining tree work will only take another day next week. All trails will remain open for the rest of this week. Thank you all for your cooperation today, enabling the crew to work quickly and efficiently.

The cork trees behind the dog park have been taken down, so the dog park can also remain open!

We expect most trail sections to be closed for parts of next Wednesday, August 26. Crews will proceed counter-clockwise from the Beacon Street entrance, closing down one section of trail at a time.

But watch this space for notification of potential additional trail closures.

The Friends of Cold Spring Park was founded in 2018 by local neighbors and residents who love the park, but were concerned that it is being degraded. Learn more about the park and our work on our website. And then please go out and enjoy it!
